About Vicky


Vicky Sierra was born in Cali, Colombia. She studied classical ballet at the Instituto Colombiano de Ballet Clasico Incolballet, where she obtained a degree in Colombian Folklore and Classical Ballet. Vicky became a member of her school's dance company, where she was able to obtain great stage experience. Later on, with renown teachers in Colombia and Europe, she studied Contemporary Dance, Jazz, Colombian Salsa, Belly Dance, Argentine Tango amongst other forms of Dance. Over the years Vicky has earned a number of awards such as: Best Interpreter, a premier and unique scholastic award at Incolballet; she was a three time Tango Regional Champion in Cali; second place in Stage Tango at a national level in 1996; and in 2007 she placed second in Tango Salon which was also a national level competition in Colombia.

Vicky worked as a teacher at the Conservatory in Cali, Colombia. She taught in the School of Theater from 1990 -2000. During that same period she taught in a variety of Dance Studios throughout Colombia and Europe. She also toured with Tango y Tres throughout various cities in South America and the United States. Afterwards, Vicky continued searching for new experiences in Europe. She traveled to England where she was the exclusive female dancer for the Orquesta Siempre Tango and had the opportunity to dance in many different countries at the most prominent theaters and stages.

In 2007 Vicky taught at the School Swing Latino Tigo where she was involved with arduous physical and technical training. Her students represented the school at the National Salsa Championship in Colombia. There they took second place, which secured a position to represent Colombia in the 2007 Salsa World Cabaret in which they earned a worldwide Third Place under Vicky's guidance. Over the years Vicky has danced with many renown professionals and Tango partners such as; John Hernan Raigoza (3rd place Argentina World Champion 2008), Jorge Nel (National Tango Salon Champion in Colombia and Tango promoter in Florida), and Carlos Paredes (World Champion in Argentina 2006).

 Vicky provides Workshops and hosts Milongas throughout the year. Vicky teaches Argentine Tango as well as other forms of dance in many cities throughout South Florida. Vicky provides both group and individual sessions and is always searching for new creative opportunities
